The purpose of this blog is to allow the CWU community to comment on areas of service that our unit provides.

The Multimedia Technology and Instructional Support (MTIS) unit provides contemporary information technology services, support, and resources to faculty, students, and academic staff in the pursuit of their instructional, scholarly and service activities, and other professional duties.

In short, MTIS provides leadership for the utilization of university techology recources and staff in support of the academic mission of the institution.

Goals:
The goals of Multimedia Technologies and Instructional
Support include, but are not necessarily limited to the:

  • Enhancement of instruction and learning, scholarship
and service by focusing on and promoting the
development and use of appropriate multimedia
technology tools through a variety of training methods
    and laboratory support.
  • Maintenance of these multimedia technologies within the
academic environments on campus and at our university
    centers using staff, help-desk, self-help and web-based
    procedures.
  • Establishment of incentives for faculty and students to
make use of these multimedia technologies in the redesign
    of curriculum.
  • Encouragement of collaborations within the institution and
with other educational institutions for the delivery of newly
designed and developed courses and programs.
  • Building partnerships within the community, and among
government agencies and corporations to promote information
multimedia technology solutions in the workplace.
