Nomination/Acceptance Forms Checklist

 

ALL STUDENTS:

Congratulations again on your placement at Central Washington University with the National Student Exchange! You will soon be receiving a packet of informational materials by mail. In addition, please complete the following tasks and paperwork. All items except the CWU application (for Plan A financial aid recipients) should be returned to Study Abroad and Exchange Programs at the address below.


Admission to university – To receive your student ID number and computer login, and to be eligible for registration, you must be temporarily admitted to the university. Pre-registration for fall begins in May, so you’ll need to complete this step as soon as possible to be eligible for pre-registration.

    • For Plan A students who receive financial aid or those who have previously attended CWU as matriculated undergraduate students– Submit an application to the Central Washington University Admissions Office. Click here to fill out the application. You will also need to submit following the Admissions Office before your application can be processed:
      • $50 application fee
      • Official transcript
    • For non-financial aid Plan A students and all Plan B students – Please complete Application for Incoming NSE students and submit it with the rest of your materials.

Other things to do:

In addition to completing these forms, there are several other things you'll need to do before coming to CWU:

  • Make housing arrangements -You will receive information about on-campus housing in your acceptance packet. You can also download the application and learn about the various housing options and prices from http://www.cwu.edu/~housing/. Off-campus housing arrangements are made by students, but information can be found in the local newspaper.
  • Make your travel arrangements -You can fly into Seattle (approximately 2 hours from Ellensburg; shuttle schedule available at http://www.airporter.com or Yakima (35 minutes from Ellensburg, transport to Ellensburg by taxi).
  • Learn about Ellensburg! - The local paper can be found at http://www.kvnews.com and the Chamber of Commerce http://www.ellensburg-chamber.com/ has information on the town, events and things to do in the area. You can also check out www.visitellen.com. Other area highlights include the many outdoor opportunities (click here) and concerts at the beautiful Gorge Amphitheater http://www.gorgeconcerts.com/.
  • Research health needs - We recommend that students with preexisting conditions, prescriptions, or special needs consult with their physicians about how to accommodate these needs while away. CWU's Student Health, Counseling and Wellness Services are available to incoming NSE students; more information can be found at http://www.cwu.edu/~shcc/.
