Angers' beautiful gardens, diverse museums, and medieval tapestries (the largest collection in the world) provide ample opportunity to explore France's culture firsthand. Angers is one of the largest cities in the Loire Valley, about 90 minutes by rapid train from Paris. University Profile: Université d'Angers The Université d’Angers was created in 1971 following the expansion of university centers throughout France. It has a large modern campus southwest of Paris, between Nantes and Tours. Total enrollment: 16,000.
Classes Offered ISEP participants are not required to take a French language placement exam, but they will be interviewed in French. From early October until May, French language, literature and culture courses for foreign students are given at no extra cost. The language courses equal a half-time academic load (6.5 hours). These courses may be taken for a semester or for the full year. Students are housed in single-occupancy rooms in residence halls on campus or downtown. Meals are provided through a combination of weekday cafeteria service and other arrangements. Married student housing is possible if the ISEP coordinator has sufficient advance notice.
