Asia University is located in Musashino City (pop. 140,000) which is situated 20 minutes west of Tokyo Metropolis. The campus is conveniently located within 30 minutes of Shinjuku and Kichijoji, popular student areas, on the Japan Railways Chuo Line. Many parks surround the area, which has traditionally been a favorite haunt for artists and writers. The campus is comprised of 13 academic, administrative and activities buildings which are situated on 11.34 acres. University Profile: Asia University Asia University was founded in 1945 as the Professional School of Japanese Economics. By 1955, the university had evolved into AU with one department, the Faculty of Commerce. Since then, Asia University has continued to evolve and expand, and now has four departments: the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of International Relations. Many CWU students may also be familiar with Asia University from meeting some of the many AU students that study here on the Asia University America Program. As participants in the Intensive Japanese Course (IJC), CWU students also have the opportunity to take classes from these departments. Japanese Language is the focus throughout the Intensive Japanese Course at Asia University. However, in the course of the language class some or all of the following topics may be covered, depending on your level of study:
Classes Offered Exchange students from CWU must start in Semester 1, and participate in the Asia University Japan Program (AUJP). Students with sufficient Semester I (April – September): AUJP students study in the Intensive Japanese Course (IJC), which is taught in Japanese and focuses on speaking, listening, reading and writing. The IJC offers two levels of language study, based on results of a placement test. These classes are with other exchange students, and there are 5-10 students per class. Classes meet for five hours per day, Monday through Friday. Semester 2 (September – March): During semester 2, AUJP students are enrolled in the Faculty of International Relations, and have many elective options in addition to the required “Japanese Language for Exchange Students” classes. Depending on language ability, students can take: Japanese Language for International Students (three classes per week) Students will be housed in either the Seifu (males) or Okha (females) dormitories. Each student is provided with a single room equipped with a bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, bookcase, shelves, blanket, pillow and air conditioner. Public cooking and laundry facilities are also available. The dormitory has mandatory monthly meetings and cleaning duties. Housing costs are included in the program fee. Cafeterias are available on campus. Meal costs are the responsibility of the student and are paid to AU directly. Program Dates & Application Deadlines

'Current disciplinary record' is defined as an infraction within the last 12 months.
