ISEP Keimyung University, Korea - Academic Year Programs

Location

KU consists of three campuses: about 450 acres at Sungsuh campus, about 30 acres at Daemyung-dong downtown campus, and about 12 acres at Dongsan campus (downtown) in which the Dongsan Hospital, the Medical College and the College of Nursing are located. Most of its academic programs, residence halls, and major library are located at the Sungsuh Campus on 450 acres of the western Daegu.

University Profile: Keimyung University

The University (originally Keimyung Christian College) was founded in 1954 by the American missionary Edward Adams of the Northern Presbyterian Mission in conjunction with local church leaders of the Daegu area. Through subsequent growth and diversification, the college became Keimyung University in 1978. In 1981 the university merged with the Dongsan Presbyterian Hospital of Daegu, augmenting the university's medical school. Since 1980, KU has been moving to the new 450-acre Sungsuh Campus in the western district of Daegu.

Keimyung University (KU) is a private, coeducational university offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. The total enrollment is almost 30,500 students (28,000 undergraduate and 2,500 graduate) with 650 faculty members. Eighty percent of professors hold a Ph.D. or the highest degree in their fields.

The regular academic year, which runs from March to December, has two terms. Special programs taught in English run on an August to June academic year. Coursework is assessed through exams, essays and class participation.
