ISEP ITESM Campus Monterrey, Mexico - Academic Year Programs

Location

Monterrey, the capital of the state of Nuevo Leon, was founded in the 16th century. Situated on a narrow plain between the Santa Catarina River and the Sierra Madre Oriental Mountains, it is an industrial and education center. It is 150 miles south of the U.S. border and 600 miles north of Mexico City.


University Profile: Instituto Technologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey

Founded in 1943 by a group of Mexican businessmen and now considered one of the best universities in Mexico, Technológico De Monterrey is a 27-campus educational system with campuses in 26 cities. System-wide enrollment has surpassed sixty thousand students. Fields of study include agriculture, architecture, computer science, food technology, management and Spanish. MBA students are also welcome on a trimester calendar.

Classes Offered

Students may take direct enrollment classes (regular university classes) for which they meet the prerequisites. Areas of interest to ISEP participants include agriculture, architecture, computer science, engineering, food technology, management, Mexican culture, Mexican business and Spanish.

Housing

Participants will be housed in student residence halls, apartments, or with host families. Please see specific Institutional Information Sheet or your study abroad advisor for further details on housing. Depending on the housing arrangements, a weekly stipend or cafeteria tickets will be provided, or meals will be provided by host families.

Eligibility

  • Minimum GPA: 2.75
  • Minimum Class Standing: Sophomore
  • Language Requirement: 2 years college level language or equiv.
  • Other Info: Spanish proficiency is required, though ITESM offers several options to help enhance students' language fluency. Please see website for details.
  • Good academic standing
  • No current disciplinary record
  • An interview may be required

In addition to academic strength, acceptance is based on personal commitment, flexibility, and suitability for study abroad/exchange. 'Current disciplinary record' is defined as an infraction within the last 12 months.

Before you begin your application, we highly recommend that you see a study abroad advisor to ensure that you have all the information you need about program logistics and eligibility. CWU students can call 963-3622 or drop by the International Center, Room 101 (across from L&L), to schedule an appointment.
