I have roommates from all over the country and getting to see this beautiful place is worth being away from home! " ~ Rachel Chiechi, NSE, University of Hawaii at Manoa With the National Student Exchange, students have the opportunity to study at over 175 colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and even Guam! NSE is an excellent option for students wishing to live in another area, experience a different kind of university environment, take specialized classes, investigate graduate schools and of course, experience the vast cultural diversity that the United States and Canada have to offer. University Profile: National Student Exchange Overviews of each participating school can be found at www.nse.org and in the NSE Directory (available in the International Center). If you're interested in a specific NSE school, please contact the NSE coordinator at CWU first before contacting the host school. " Thank you so much for the opportunity to go to Hawaii. It was worth more than anything. " ~ Monika Lemmon, studied glassblowing at University of Hawaii-Manoa
Among the 175 NSE schools is a full range of departments, many of which offer different subjects than can be found at CWU. For example, CWU students have studied glassmaking, children's theater, music production and urban sociology while on exchange. Use the "Majors" search on www.nse.org to see what departments are available at which schools, and what new subjects are available to try. Classes Offered Nearly all majors and areas of study are available through the National Student Exchange. However, not all classes are available at all sites, so please consult www.nse.org, the NSE Directory or the individual university's webpage for more information. Please note also that some departments are closed to NSE students at certain universities. Check the "Limitations "and "Closed Programs" sections of each university in the NSE Directory. Housing costs and arrangements vary widely by school. Please check the NSE Directory for details.
