Eligibility

General Requirements
In addition to academic strength, acceptance is based on personal commitment, flexibility, and suitability for study abroad/exchange. Students must be in good academic standing and have no current disciplinary record with their home institution. "Current disciplinary record" is defined as an infraction within the last 12 months. This will be verified prior to program participation. An interview may be required.

Program Specific Requirements
Minimum 2.0 gpa. An interview may be required.

Application Deadlines

  • Fall:
    • September 1st
  • Winter:
    • December 1st
  • Spring:
    • March 1st
  • Summer:
    • May 15th

Application Procedure

A complete application consists of the items in the checklist below. Please complete and submit all application materials together as a packet, using the list below as a checklist. If you are unable to open any forms on this page, you may request copies by e-mailing goabroad@cwu.edu.
    All students must complete the: CWU Study Abroad/Exchange Application

    Completed Cooperative Education Program Learning Agreement.

    Completed Internship release form.

    Internship providers may require additional paperwork. Check internship materials carefully to ensure you complete all requirements by the applicable deadline.

    CWU Waivers: please complete and sign all three waivers.

    Conditions of Participation Form

    Non-refundable CWU Application Fee:

    • CWU Students: Please pay your application fee of $50 at the Cashiers Office to subcode SA APP . The receipt should be included with your application materials.
    • Non-CWU Students: Please send a check for $50 (application fee) payable to Central Washington University along with your application materials.

    Concurrent Enrollment Fee: All study abroad and exchange programs assess a $200.00 concurrent enrollment fee for each quarter abroad.

Please submit all application materials at once, using the list above as a checklist.
References and transcripts should be submitted in sealed envelopes (exception: unofficial transcripts for faculty led programs do not need to be put in an envelope).
